Knowing the packing secrets before packing two full suitcases and a duffle bag to your abroad destination is a must.
Some say it is possible to pack only one small carry-on for travel. From my experience traveling in Europe, it is definitely doable. It makes traveling so much easier when commuting to several different places.
Now packing and organizing a carry-on may be a challenge, half of the things that may come to mind of needing can literally stay at home.
Here are some Basic Tips for traveling light:
- Use the lightest bag that you can find for your carry-on. Make sure to research the weight and dimensions of your carry-on before purchasing.
- Make sure that the clothing that you do have can be worn in multiple ways. Choosing natural and earth-tone clothes will help with the organization of your clothes.
- Use packing cubes to help organize. These were a huge help when I traveled throughout Spain and Germany.
- Read the carry-on luggage policies of every airline that you fly with. This can really come in handy when it comes to the overall cost of your flight. For example, some airlines may charge for carry-on luggage while others may not.
- Make sure your booking accommodations have accessible laundry facilities that are reasonable in budget.
